What the PC Checkup Report is
This page gathers the results of the 12 tests on this site onto one sheet. Whenever you run a test, the latest result is saved in this browser automatically, and the report lists that evidence item by item. You then mark each item OK or Issue and can add a note of up to 120 characters.
People use it as a condition sheet for a second-hand listing, an arrival checklist for a new PC inside the return window, or a quick check before a video call. The finished report can be copied as plain text, saved as a PNG image or printed. Nothing is uploaded, because there is no server to upload to.
How the report is put together
There is no save button to remember. The keyboard test records how many keys you pressed and the most keys held at once, the mouse test records double-click faults and polling rate, and the webcam test records resolution and frame rate. Each line of the report shows that evidence, when the test was run and a link to run it again.
The verdict is yours. Whether a panel has a dead pixel or the left speaker crackles can only be judged by eye and ear, so every item has an OK or Issue mark and room for a short note. A purpose preset decides which items appear: Full checkup includes all 12, Video call prep only the mic, webcam and speaker, and Gaming setup covers keyboard, chatter, mouse, DPI, monitor, gamepad, click speed and reaction time.
Saved results sit in this browser's localStorage and nowhere else. Device info (OS and browser, CPU cores, memory, GPU, screen resolution and refresh rate) is not stored; it is read fresh each time the report opens. Pressing Reset report erases the saved evidence and your marks from this browser.
Using it for a used-device sale
Sellers should pick the Used-device trade preset, which covers keyboard, keyboard chatter, mouse, monitor, speaker, mic and webcam. Run each test once, mark the items, then save the image and add it to the photos on eBay, Facebook Marketplace or a Reddit hardwareswap post. Write known faults into the notes.
Buyers should read a report they are sent as the seller's own checklist. When you meet, open this site on the machine itself and repeat the tests before any money changes hands. Press every key, cycle the solid colors looking for dead pixels and backlight bleed, play both speaker channels, and check that the mic and webcam respond.
Some things no browser test covers, so check them by hand. Look up battery cycle count and health in the operating system, plug something into every USB port and the charging socket, and listen for fan noise under load. Hinge wobble and pressure marks on the screen only show up in person.
New hardware and warranty claims
A new PC or peripheral is best tested the day it arrives. Inside the return window a fault usually means a simple exchange, and after it the same fault tends to mean a repair. Run the Full checkup preset and compare the resolution and refresh rate under device info with what you ordered.
Prioritize the faults that are easiest to miss. On a monitor that means refresh rate and dead pixels, on a keyboard every key plus chatter, on a mouse double-clicks and polling rate. Laptops need the webcam, mic and speakers checked too.
For a warranty or RMA claim, mark the item as Issue and describe the symptom precisely in the note, for example: spacebar repeats at the 30 ms threshold, or one dead pixel near the top left corner. Paste the text into the support form or attach the PDF. Manufacturers are not obliged to accept it as proof, so keep a photo or video as well.
Reading results and automatic hints
Where the numbers alone point to a problem, the report adds an automatic hint. Chatter is flagged when the same key registers a second press within the threshold you chose in the chatter test (20, 30 or 50 ms). That is the fault behind doubled letters, and a repeat caught at 20 ms is far too fast to be your finger.
A double-click fault is two left clicks less than 80 ms apart, a gap that is very hard to produce on purpose, so even one is suspicious. The silent microphone hint appears when the input peak never rises above roughly -50 dBFS. Check the mute switch and the selected input device before concluding the mic is dead.
Stick drift is flagged when a gamepad stick reads off-center while nobody is touching it. No hint does not mean no fault. Dead pixels, speaker quality and webcam image cannot be judged automatically, so those verdicts are yours. Anything you have not run stays listed as not tested.
Limits, stated plainly
This report is not a certificate. The marks are the author's own judgement, and both the saved image and the copied text can be edited afterwards. A buyer should treat it as a seller's checklist and, whenever possible, rerun the tests in person.
Browsers also hide a lot. Battery health and cycle count, SSD health (SMART data) and temperatures are not available to any web page. Reported memory is capped at 8 GB, and some browsers replace the exact GPU model with a generic name. The report covers what the browser can see, not the components inside the case.
Results are tied to one browser profile. Clearing site data deletes them, a private window forgets them when it closes, and they never follow you to another device. Export the report as an image or PDF if you need to keep it.
Frequently asked questions
- Is my test data uploaded anywhere?
- No. Results, marks and notes are stored only in this browser's localStorage, and the site has no server that could receive them. Copied text and saved images go wherever you choose to send them.
- Can a buyer trust this report?
- Only as far as they trust the seller. The evidence is recorded automatically, but the OK and Issue marks are the seller's own, and the exported image or text can be altered. Rerunning the same tests on the device in person is the reliable check.
- Why does an item say not tested?
- No saved result for that test exists in this browser. Either the test has not been run yet, it was run in another browser or a private window, or site data has been cleared since. Follow the link on the item, finish the test and come back.
- Can I continue the report on another device or browser?
- No. There are no accounts and no syncing, so results stay in the browser profile where the tests ran. Finish in one browser, then export.
- Why doesn't it show battery health or SSD health?
- Browsers do not expose them to web pages. Battery cycle count, SSD SMART data and temperatures can only be read by the operating system or the manufacturer's own tools. For a used laptop, ask the seller for a screenshot of the battery health screen.
- How do I save the report as a PDF?
- Press Print, then choose Save as PDF as the destination in the print dialog. For a marketplace listing or a chat message, the PNG image is usually easier to attach.
